This has got to be the most controversial opinion. With people insisting that people with Bipolar Disorder choke it up to being Psychic. If you are a Psychic, you know better. And you do not have to try and convince anyone that you are. In any case, being psychic is not a show you put on, or something you do to prove a point. You either are or you aren’t. And even the people who think they aren’t, we all know that they have the ability innate, they just don’t know it.
Then there is Bipolar Disorder. Suffice it to say, mental disorders sometimes go hand-in-hand. Bipolar Disorder has 2 phases in it. The manic (or sometimes hypomania) and the depressive phase. There is the lull period between the two. Between the manic or depressive phases, physics senses become heightened. And it would make sense wouldn’t it. With Bipolar Disorder, most symptoms involve heightened senses, excessive energy, etc.
So how do you cope with Bipolar Disorder and being Psychic? If you are just starting out noticing the difference, then it can feel like an uphill battle. Quite daunting in fact. Sometimes you feel so lost, and may even feel like you are losing your mind! You don’t know whether you are actually psychic or you just have a mental illness. What do you do in this instance?
Never ever panic. If you have established that you are psychic, let that be a constant within you. Doubt makes things worse. You will feel lost and your ability become out of whack. Once you have that as an established constant, then you are able to deal with the Bipolar Disorder. By all means, seek the help of a professional. But whichever professional you are consulting, let them not derail you from what you already know. They are only helping you cope with the Bipolar Disorder, so long as you cannot cope.
Why am I telling you all this? Because in the last couple of years, I have discovered that I do suffer from Bipolar Disorder. It has not been easy, especially when I felt that I was losing my mind. How am I coping? Establishing routines. These routines help all round. With being Psychic as well as with Bipolar Disorder. Believe it or not, your priority is to stay grounded, and nothing grounds you like routine. Respecting your body is another important way of coping. You will feel tired sometimes, and you will feel full of energy. Recognise these patterns, when they come, so that you can adjust accordingly.
Being Psychic and having Bipolar Disorder does not have to leave you feeling helpless. Seek guidance and counsel as and when you need it. Keep up with routine and never for even a second, doubt who you are or what you are capable of doing, even when people around you introduce doubt.
I am no expert, but I know that sharing my experiences will help someone out there cope, and feel that they are not alone.
Love and light.
